Meri is a young mother from Dimitrov village of the Ararat region, Armenia. She lives with her husband, in-laws, and little son (shown in the photo). Meri cultivates land with her family, currently growing apricot and pear trees. They work hard to gather a good harvest and to sell it in the local market. The family owns a greenhouse which is too old and needs to be renovated. Meri has applied for this loan to pay for renovation of the greenhouse as well as for tomato seeds and fertilizer. The renovation of the greenhouse will give Meri an opportunity to cultivate different types of fruits and vegetables and gather more income. As agriculture is the only source of income for the family, this loan is very important for Meri to be able to create better living conditions and to sustain her family.
