Natividad
Natividad, 49, is married, hardworking, and enterprising. She has a great desire to excel and succeed. She is the mother of seven children, of whom only one is still a student and is in the first year of middle school. She has a lot of experience, as she has worked for 30 years with her husband, who taught her how to plant and grow coffee, corn, and beans. She didn't attend school because her parents lacked the financial resources to help her with her studies. The land the family owns and works is 500 metros from the house, and they walk there every day.

Natividad has applied for a loan to buy fertilizer and manure for her coffee crop so that the harvest will be healthy and abundant and so that she will generate income and profit to invest in the business. Her goal is to grow more so that she can increase her family's income and improve the lifestyle of her children, who are a tremendous help with the many field chores.

More information about this loan

These loans are designed for female farmers who produce a variety of products (onion, garlic, eggplant, spinach, mango, strawberries, etc.). Loan terms will vary depending on need, and borrowers can choose to make a "bullet" payment timed with harvest profits. Agricultural loans are considered risky in Honduras due to external forces like unpredictable weather and worldwide crop prices. As a result, many traditional financial institutions are unwilling to offer these loans. With Kiva funding, COMIXMUL will be able to reach more borrowers with agricultural loans tailored to their needs.
