Mebakari is 58 years old, married, and the mother of five children. For the past 21 years, she has earned a living by supplying water in Malindi. She earns a monthly profit of 18,200 KES.
Mebakari was introduced KADET by a credit officer and she is applying for her third loan of 65,000 KES to buy additional water tanks needed for her business. She will use the profits made possible by this loan to pay school fees for her children.
Mebakari's goal for the future is to own a well-established water distribution depot in the area, so as to help improve her family's living standards.
