Nachiro is a married mother of six children all whom attends school. She lives at her own house that neither has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is school fees.
For the past ten years, she has operated a charcoal selling business, selling at the market to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge of high cost of transporting charcoal from rural areas to her place of business. She dreams of expanding and establishing a large store of charcoal in the future.
With the loan that she is requesting of Kshs 20,000 she wants to purchase 6 sacks of charcoal for resale and use the remaining cash to transport the charcoal. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
