Chizi aged 52 years, is a married woman with eight children. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
She operates a kiosk business, selling household consumables of wheat flour, maize flour, and sugar from home to her neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge of stiff competition in her business. Her dream is to establish a wholesale shop business in the near future.
With the Kshs 10,000 she wants to purchase stock of wheat flour, maize flour, sugar, and rice. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
