Monyonway is 31 years old and lives in Montserrado County, which has the largest free port and is the number one commercial county in Liberia. She is single and has two children aged 4 and 15, who are in school and live at home. She stopped her education in 11th grade. For the past five years Monyonway has been selling rice, palm oil, vita, sugar, etc in the local market. She started this business with money given to her by her older brother.
She enjoys her business because it is her only means of survival. She sells six days a week, from 6am to 6pm, and most of the time she uses a shared taxi to get her goods to her place. Monyonway is requesting a loan to purchase more rice, palm oil, vita, sugar etc for her business. Her plans are to build a house and own store in the near future.
