Pearl Grace of Carmen Annex, Ozamiz City is a 34-year-old woman who is married with three little children. To earn a living, she owns a sari-sari store selling dry goods in the local community with an income of 10,000 PHP monthly. In 2011, she became a member of GDMPC and is requesting a loan of 11,000 PHP to purchase additional products to sell. She always dreams of expanding to a bigger general store in the future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
