Mwanamisi is a married , staying together with her husband. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food.
For the past one year, she has operated a charcoal selling business. She sells from home to her neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge of high cost of transportation. She dreams of expanding her business to a wholesale supplier of charcoal in the village.
With the Kshs 30,000 she wants to purchase sacks of charcoal for resale. She decided to join to Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
