Milos
Milos lives in a southern part of Kosovo in a minority community. He is single and 21 years old. For more than two years he has been running his own cafe bar. In his village cafe bars are rare which enables him to have more profit. Usually his customers are the younger generation who have a good time drinking coffee.

Milos is now requesting a loan in order to add a TV, a table for billiards and to buy new inventory to satisfy the customer demand. These purchases will help him to better meet the needs of the customers from all communities in his village. Milos hopes soon to get married and have children and to save money for his future. He wants to thank all Kiva lenders!

More information about this loan

This loan will support the economic aspirations of minority people in Kosovo. Roma people and ethnic Serbians have historically faced a tremendous amount of hardship in Kosovo, and are still socioeconomically and politically vulnerable. During the 1998-1999 war, the fighting displaced 250,000 people. Among those displaced were an estimated 80-90% of the region’s Roma population. Today, Roma and ethnic Serbians living in Kosovo still face discrimination and are excluded from many aspects of society, including fair political representation and high rates of unemployment. By supporting this loan you are helping provide opportunity to marginalized populations.
