Adona of Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur is a 32-year-old married woman with two children. Her husband is a carpenter and they also have a transportation services business, earning 10,000 a month. As a new member of GDMPC, she is borrowing 15,000 to repair the existing tricycle and for a down payment for another unit.
Adona plans to have an additional tricycle to gain more income for the better future of her children.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
