Genelyn is 28 years old and single with two children living in Panaon, Misamis Occidental. She owns and operate a sari sari (convenience) store, selling grocery products in the local community and earning 5,000 PHP (Philippines pesos) monthly.
This year, after joining GDMPC, she is requesting a loan of 7,000 PHP to purchase canned goods, soft drinks and other inventory capital. In the near future, she dreams to have better living conditions and a complete family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
