Jenus is a 57-year-old married man who has only one child. He lives in Canubay, Oroquieta City, where he buys and sells home products to earn a living. He has been doing this for two years, having an income of 7,000 PHP (Philippines pesos) a month.
Recently, he joined GDMPC and requested a loan of 15,000 PHP to purchase additional inventory products. In the future, Jenus dreams to double his income just to improve the general living conditions of his family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
