Orieta
Orieta, age 54, lives in the city of Barranquilla and has sold fruits and vegetables for five years. She started her business after a friend suggested it to her, and she runs it out of her home. Bit by bit, her business grew and she started selling new products because they sold immediately. She now sells directly to her customers, who are her neighbours and people who have been referred to her. She sells on credit or for cash. She works from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. She makes her purchases in the public market where there are suppliers who sell the produce very fresh.
Orieta's business goals include moving the business out of her family's space and later remodeling her home. She wants to have more serenity in her business and to increase her sales in order to save up and improve her well-being. She is applying for a loan with which she will buy a new freezer, as well as tropical fruits and vegetables in a larger quantity in order to obtain special discounts. This will make her loan a success.
