William lives in the Kongowea area of Coast province, Kenya. He is a single businessman and sells tree seedlings, fruit and vegetables. He has been operating this business for four years. Apart from the tree business, he earns a salary from formal employment.
William learnt about Milango through a friend with the aim of accessing credit to improve his business operations. The main challenge he faces is the effect of dry seasons, a period when he says there is demand for water.
William is applying for a loan of 10,650 Kenyan shillings to buy more seeds for planting. His extra income from the loan will be added to the savings, to expand the business and in turn improve his standard of living.
