Ali is a 45-year-old married Lebanese man. He lives with his wife and four children who are still attending school. Ali owns a mini-market, and he has reached an advanced level of gaining a great number of loyal customers.
Ali works really hard since he’s the main income provider for his family and has to pay his children’s study fees. For this reason he is requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to be able to improve his work by purchasing merchandise to add to his inventory. This will enable him to earn higher revenues. In the future, he plans to take more Kiva loans with the ambition to open his own supermarket.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
