Unfortunately, due to a lack of economic resources and the need he had to work when he was very young, Eddy was unable to study for a professional degree. In his free time he likes to distract himself by watching television and, on some occasions, cook a delicious Ají de Gallina (a Peruvian chicken and rice dish) to share with his family.
On his own initiative and with much determination and dedication, Eddy works as a taxi driver offering transportation services in his city. He works every day for approximately 12 hours and believes it is going well for him due to his friendliness and because he knows all the areas where he can find the largest number of passengers.
Eddy is very thankful to the Kiva lenders since, thanks to the help they offer, he will be able to make improvements to his home. He wishes to put down a concrete floor in his house, which was prefabricated and is made of wood. This way, Eddy will be able to offer his family more security and well-being. Thus he will continue working and striving to achieve his great dream of having his own transportation business.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
