Sophy
Mrs. Sophy L., 45, and her husband, Mr. Phin Bo, 41, who live on an island on the Mekong River about 15 kilometers from Phnom Penh, were married in 1987 and have three children: two sons and one daughter. Two of their children have full time employment in Phnom Penh, and the third attends the local school.

Sophy has been a silk weaver for 22 years, a skill she learned from her mother. She sells her finished products to the middleman in the village, who then resells them in Phnom Penh. Phin is a motor taxi driver.

Sophy is requesting a loan of $300 to purchase silk material to continue her weaving business.
