Donixa Yojany
Donixa is an enterprising 21-year-old young woman with a great deal of strength, youth, and desire to get ahead with her business. She works with material from balsa trees to make baskets, hammocks, braids, brooms, etc. She is single and has a secondary education, graduating as a qualified primary school teacher, and she thanks her parents for allowing her to study and for supporting her. She learned the craftwork she does from her own mother who still supports her to this day. Her customers are individuals who come to her workshop to buy a variety of products they then resell in the city or in other commercial areas, such as markets, pedestrian streets, etc. Her workshop is a family affair where her grandmother, sisters, mother, and she herself all work.

She is currently asking for help to buy materials to make hammocks, as this will allow her to stock her workshop and have material to work with to keep generating income she can reinvest later.

Her goal is to increase her production so she can offer more to her buyers and her individual customers and keep them supplied. Her dream is to make her small business grow so she can launch her product in other communities and municipalities and, in the future, export to other countries.

More information about this loan

These loans are designed for young Honduran women between ages 16 and 29 who want to start their own businesses to launch their careers. COMIXMUL offers training sessions through its sister organization FUDEIMFA that will culminate in clients writing their own business plans and receiving their first loans. The main difference between this product and other COMIXMUL loans is that the institution normally requires the client to already have an established business in order to be eligible for a loan. However, COMIXMUL is waiving this requirement for young women who attend the training sessions.
