Zulekha is a married mother of three who lives in Kisauni. With the help of her family, she sells fruit juices. Zulekha is a very enterprising woman who says that she has been able to greatly increase her income and help her family, thanks to her hard work. She always struggles to improve her fruit parlor, trying to sell more and save money in order to have a more formal establishment. Zulekha is requesting a loan of KES 50,000 to buy mangoes, watermelons, and pawpaw fruits for the preparation of juices.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
