Medina is a 39-year-old lady from Shienwe in Kakamega County which is located in the western part of Kenya. She supports six people in her family and is married to Ainea, who is a farmer. She is blessed with three children who are 13, 11 and 5 years old.
Medina has a retail shop in her location and has been doing this business for the last three years. She comfortably makes a monthly income of 12,000 Kenyan shillings. She has applied for her first loan with KADET Ltd. which she will use to purchase shop items like sugar, salt, cooking oil and soft drinks for resale. She will plow the anticipated profit back into the business. Her dream is to educate her children and to own a supermarket.
