Corina
Corina is a 51 year-old woman who lives in the city of Chiclayo, in Jayanca district, with her husband and three children, who she loves and who are her main reason for living. She is a very kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic woman who, together with her husband, puts all of her efforts into moving her family forward. Unfortunately, because she lacked economic resources and needed to start working at a very young age in order to help her parents, Corina was unable to study for the professional accounting career she wanted. In her free time, she likes to play with her children and sometimes she prepares a rich loin stir-fry to share with her family.

On her own initiative, and with a great deal of effort and dedication, Corina works in her small business selling groceries and beverages. She works every day for approximately 10 hours, and thinks that it's doing well thanks to her good prices and the kind treatment she offers her customers.

Corina is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they are offering, she will be able to make improvements to the bathroom in her home. The walls of her bathroom have deteriorated and she needs to construct them with adequate and sturdy materials, so that her family can enjoy greater safety and well-being and she can keep working and gaining strength, in order to achieve her greatest goal of finishing the construction of her home.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
