German
German is a 68-year-old man who lives in the city of Chiclayo, in the district of Jayanca, with his wife and seven children. He loves them very much and they are his main reason for living. He is a very kind, hard-working, and enthusiastic person. He and his wife put their all into getting their family ahead. Unfortunately, due to a lack of economic resources and because of the necessity to get a job at a very young age, German was unable to study business administration as he had wanted. In his free time, he likes to walk in the fields and he sometimes cooks delicious fried rice.
On his own initiative, with great hard work and dedication, German works in livestock. He has a small number of animals - rams, sheep, goats, and others - which he raises to later sell in the city markets. German works every day for approximately ten hours and believes that it is going well for him because of his experience and his kind treatment of others.
German is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to their help he will be able to improve his home's hygienic services. He currently has only a pit latrine. This way, German and his family will be able to have better security and well-being. He will continue working hard to achieve his great dream of finishing construction on his home.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
