Alejandra Camila
Alejandra is 21 years old. She is unmarried and lives in the city of Ica with her parents and siblings. She is a very friendly, hard-working and enthusiastic individual, with a great desire for self-improvement. Unfortunately, due to a lack of economic resources, and because she needs to work to help her parents, Alejandra has not been able to pursue a degree in Administration as she had wished. In her free time she likes to do some reading and she sometimes cooks a delicious Peruvian stewed pork dish [Carapulcra] to share with her family.

On her own initiative and with much persistence and dedication, Alejandra works as a sales clerk in a photography shop in her city. She works every day, taking care of clients for approximately 10 hours. She thinks things are going well for her because of the good service and friendly treatment that she gives others.

Alejandra is very thankful for Kiva lenders; with their assistance she will be able to renovate a room in her home. This room has only an earthen floor and she needs to put down a concrete one. This way Alejandra and her family will have greater security and well-being. She will continue working hard to achieve her dream of attending university.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
