Swalehe is 59 years old. He is a married man with seven children, all of whom graduated from school. He owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water.
Swalehe has operated a timber selling business for the past five years, selling from home to his neighbors. He faces a major challenge of seasonality in his business.
With the loan he is requesting, he wants to purchase more timber for resale. He dreams of expanding his business to earn more income in the future.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
