Imamaddin is 38 years old, married and the father of three children. Since ten years ago, Imamaddin has been running a store. He usually sells daily products in the store. There is tea, sugar, rice, candy, sauces, beans and other food items in his store. His wife is a housekeeper, but sometimes helps him to sell foods.
Imamaddin’s store is in the central market of Imisli. There are daily customers who come to purchase the items they need. His monthly income from the business is 250 AZN. He uses the money he gets from the store to take care of his children and also supports his relatives financially. He is person who always works hard in order to achieve more.
Imamaddin has taken a loan before Aqroinvest once. He has applied for a fifth loan of 1,300 AZN. With this money, he plans to purchase more food products.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
