Hul L., 46, is widowed and raises ducks behind her house in Trapeang Prey Village, Siem Reap Province. She bought small ducks to raise and sells their eggs and meat as well. L. wants to expand her business to increase her family’s income, so she now is asking for a loan to purchase more ducks to raise. The loan will allow her to increase her income and improve her living conditions.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
