Cesar Vallejo Group
In this Group: Andrea, Nestor, Carlota, Jacoba, Marlene, Alvaro, Gina , Nancy
The "Cesar Vallejo" group consists of eight entrepreneurs who have a lot of creativity for their businesses. Gina is 42 years old and has two children. She has made a living for the past three years selling grains (corn, lima beans, peas). Gina tells us that she has been able to create loyal customers, which has generated profits to cover household expenses. In the future, she would like to have her own store where she can sell her grains and have more financial gains. With the loan, she plans to expand her small store and purchase more grains, and in this way she will be able to keep moving forward. Gina and all of the members express their gratitude to Kiva and partner EDAPROSPO for the loan and for the faith the organizations have put in them. Gina is standing between the two men in the photo and leaves with a promise to fulfill all of her proposed goals.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
