Rosemary lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with three children and two of them attend school. She is not looking after any other family members.
She has been running a retail shop from home for seven years, working seven days a week. She also generates additional income from charcoal selling.
She has requested a loan of UGX 1,600,000 from MCDT- SACCO to enable her to stock more rice, sugar, cooking oil, sesame, Irish potatoes and charcoal to sell. Her challenges include transportation and thieves. Her dream is to make her sales much bigger and to start selling on a wholesale basis only.
She joined MCDT because of their interest in low-income people. She stays in her husband`s house with access to electricity but no piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees.
