Sem is 50 years old and married with 5 children. He lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental, in the Philippines. He owns and operates a motorcycle transport business to earn a living. He has been in his business for over seven years and earns 4,000 PHP every month. He has joined GDMPC in 2012, and now he has requested a loan of 6,500 PHP to purchase spare motorcycle parts so he can provide better service. His hope and dream is to get his children through school.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
