Mwanamkuu is a married mother. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for her family.
For the past two years, she has operated a food café, selling from home to passersby and neighbors. She dreams of establishing a restaurant shop in the future.
With the loan she wants to purchase bundles of sugar, cooking oil, potatoes, wheat flour and maize flour. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
