Salim is a married woman with seven children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees. For over two years, she has operated a coconut business, selling from home to her local neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her place of operation. Salim dreams of establishing a wholesale store, selling coconuts in the future. With the Kshs 30,000 loan, she wants to purchase sacks of coconuts for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
