Rahel is a married woman with six children, all of whom attend school. Rahel owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is school fees.
Rahel operates a vegetable stall business, selling from home to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a challenge of stiff competition from other vegetable operators in her business.
With the Kshs 40,000 she wants to purchase sacks of tomatoes, potatoes, fruits and green vegetables for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
