Alba de 52 años de edad tiene un negocio de variedades en la ciudad de Cartagena donde habita con su esposo y su hijo de 14 años de edad. Su experiencia la adquirió hace 15 años, mientras su negocio empezó hace 12. Ella inició con una tienda de barrio donde vendía artículos de la canasta familiar a la medida de las familias de su alrededor y posteriormente como estrategia fue quedándose solo con los artículos de papelería, bisutería, y variedades femeninas, además de ropa- Sus ventas las realiza de contado desde las 6 de la mañana hasta las 9 de la noche y sus compras las realiza de contado en el mercado de la ciudad donde encuentras los productos a precios competitivos. En la actualidad está aplicando a un credikiva, primer financiamiento que hace a la Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, con el cual comprará refrescos, ropa, artículos domésticos útiles y papelería en general. Su meta es aumentar sus ventas mediante una oferta de productos con mayor rotación que le ayuden en su propósito, para alcanzar la meta de ofrecerle estudios superiores de calidad a su hijo.
