Tima, 65 years old, is married and blessed with three children who all attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor running water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
Tima operates a baking, selling from home to neighbours and shop operators. She cites seasonality as a challenge in the business. She dreams of establishing another bakery in the future.
With the Kshs 20,000 she wants purchase to ingredients such as wheat flour, milk and sugar. She decided to join Yehu to access financial support to expand her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
