Pora is a married woman with eight children, one of whom still attends school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past five years, she has operated a food stall business, cooking flat bread and beans and selling them from home to local neighbours. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She dreams of expanding into a café.
With the Kshs 50,000 she wants to purchase bundles of wheat flour, rice, maize flour, rice and sugar. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
