Marlefe is 23 years old, single, and lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental, where she has earned a living for the last years by her retail business.
She makes PHP 8,000 a month and is applying for a loan of PHP 17,000 to purchase additional products like canned goods, noodles, sugar, and coffee.
Marlefe joined GDMPC this year as a way to improve her family's living conditions.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
