Moses is 41 years old, married and he supports a family of four. His spouse supports him in meeting some of their financial needs. Moses runs a small-scale farming business as well buying and selling livestock in Eldama Ravine division; he has been in this business for the last five years.
Moses has taken a second loan of KES 30,000. With this loan he intends to purchase farm inputs in preparation for the next planting season and purchase a few animals for resale. From this business he gets an average income of KES 20,000 a month.
With the anticipated profits he intends to expand his business by starting a dairy farming business to diversify his sources of income. He will also pay school fees for his children. His future plan is to buy a plot in Eldama Ravine town to enable him to built rental houses.
