Arouna is 41 years old and father to two children. He lives with his wife and children in a nuclear family in the Hérémakono Nord district of the town of Bougouni.

He attended a modern school for a number of years but left in fifth grade (of the Mali education system) of elementary school in order to launch an income generating activity. He tried several activities such as selling shoes, fabrics and various shop items, but without success. As a result he decided to join forces with his friend to learn how to buy and sell cereals. With more than five years' experience, he is now an expert in this business, which he carries out in Bougouni's Grand Market as well as in other weekly markets. He learnt about Soro Yiriwaso through a friend and decided to join the institution; he is now on his fourth loan, and the previous three loans he had have been repaid in full. With this new loan he is planning to buy two tons of corn and one and a half tons of pearl millet. He gets his supplies in Bougouni and the surrounding villages. His customers are mainly local traders. With this loan he expects to make a monthly profit of 80,000FCFA, which will be used to repay his loan and reinvest in his business.

Monsieur Arouna est âgé de 41 et père de 2 enfants. Il réside avec sa femme et ses enfants dans une famille nucléaire dans le quartier Hérémakono Nord de la ville de Bougouni.
Il a fréquenté l’école moderne pendant des années puis il l’abandonne en classe de 5 ème année fondamentale (système éducatif Malien) au profit des activités génératrices de revenus. Il a tenté plusieurs activités notamment la vente de chaussures, de tissus et des articles divers de boutique, mais sans réussite. C’est ainsi qu’il décide d’accompagner son ami pour apprendre l’achat vente de céréales.
Avec une expérience de plus de 5 années, il maîtrise son activité, qu’il mène dans le grand marché de Bougouni et dans le autres marchés hebdomadaires. Ayant fait la connaissance de Soro Yiriwaso à travers un ami, il décida de collaborer avec l’institution avec qui il est à son quatrième prêt et tous les trois prêts précédents ont été bien remboursés Il compte acheter avec ce nouveau prêt, 2 tonnes de maïs, 1,5 tonne de petit mil. Il s’approvisionne à Bougouni et dans les villages environnants. Ces clients sont surtout des commerçants de la place.
Avec ce prêt il envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel de 80.000 FCFA qui sera utilisé pour rembourser le prêt et réinvestir dans les affaires.
