Mohammad is a 36-year-old Lebanese who lives with his wife. Like every couple, Mohammad and his wife wish to offer their coming child a respectable life, far from problems and difficulties. For this reason, they combine forces to afford their heavy living expenses. Mohammad opened his own butchery many years ago. He’s a reputable person who always seeks to deliver his customers good and fresh products. Today, he’s asking for a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to buy cattle for his business. With the loan, he hopes to develop his business and augment his sales. In the future, he plans to raise cattle and start his own dairy products trading business as a parallel job.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
