Hamza is a 43-year-old married Lebanese man living with his wife and five young children, who attend school. He is the main source of income for the family. In 2009, he decided to get involved in the car-trading business. Because of his negotiating talent and skills and his friendly personality, he was able to succeed in this domain. However, his financial results are barely permitting him to cover the high cost of living, which is why he has been working in the internal security forces, to be able to enhance his family’s standard of living. Today, he is applying for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to pay his children’s school fees. His purpose is to help them achieve high educational levels.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
