María’s husband is a carpenter and has a small furniture factory beside their house. He relies on various operators and industrial machines. María helps him with the logistics of the business. She also receives calls from the clients, that are large businesses that order furniture.

María has been dedicated to business all her life. She began by selling cebiche (a native seafood dish) in the market. Later she opened a poultry shop, but she had to close it for family reasons. Then she had a restaurant and a convenience store. She has also sold cosmetics by catalog.

Nevertheless, since she was married María has helped her husband in the administration of the furniture factory. They have been married already 17 years.

Currently, María also works in an office of a property development company.

The loans have served to support her husband in the purchase of materials for making furniture.

She would like her husband’s business to be a success. For this, it needs more labor and to improve the infrastructure of the small factory.
