Las Maravillas Group
In this Group: Silvia, Leshlye, Estela, Maria Guadalupe, Nora Angelica, Jose Adolfo, Reyna, Josefina
Adolfo, 19, belongs to a group of people that requests loans which are re-payed weekly. Adolfo studies in his town's technical school, is single and has a business selling perfumes. He sells them in his school, to his classmates and teachers; He says that he began this business to help his mother pay for a portion of his studies. Since the school asks him for a lot of work and material, this would help his mother.

He says it is going well for him because his clients already put in orders with him and this motivates him to move forward. He goes and buys them in Mexico City in different stores where they give him lower prices so that he is able to make some profit. He says that some of them are sent to him by his relatives in the United States because they are sold at slightly lower prices there, and that gives him another advantage. He sells his perfumes in cash or in payments so that it's not too hard for his clients and that way his perfumes don't lose their appeal.

He is requesting a loan in order to stock up on men's and women's perfumes since he has various pending orders, and with what he makes from his sales he will be able to help with school expenses.

The other group members are named Silvia, Leshlye, Estela, María Guadalupe, Nora Angélica, Reyna and Josefina. They will invest in their businesses in a stationery store, to buy supplies to sell Mexican snacks, to buy used clothes to be sold, to buy cosmetics and shoes by catalog, and to buy corn and various other supplies to make tortillas.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
