Safiatu is 48 years old and lives in West Point, one of the most populated and well-known market areas in Montserrado county. She is married and has five children aged between 10 and 28 years. Only two of her children are in school and live at home. For the past eight years she has been selling food items, like palm oil, rice, and pepper, to customers. One problem she faces in her business is rainy seasons.
She is requesting a loan, which she will use to purchase food items to resell, like palm oil, rice, and pepper. She likes her business because of the way people respond to it. Safiatu's plan for the future is to buy a piece of land and build a house.
