Robert
Robert was born in 1965 at Rwerere Village, Nyakagyeme Sub-county, Rujumbura County. He is married with five (05) children, with four still in school. He is a secondary school teacher working in different private schools. He used to meet his family's needs using his salary, but later he found that his salary alone could not meet all his financial needs. He decided to join UGAFODE for financial help at a time when he was constructing rentals to supplement his income.

Robert constructed the rentals in Rwerere trading center. This now supplements his income, and he also started cattle rearing for milk production. The client took this loan to buy another cow to increase milk production. His plan is for his wife to be in charge of the milk sales. The client is thankful to UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) for the financial assistance extended to him. The loans have enabled him to educate his children and to construct rentals. He would like UGAFODE to continue supporting low income earners, since this improves people’s standards of living.

More information about this loan

This loan is part of UGAFODE's program for clients who live in isolated rural areas with limited access to financial services. Uniquely, UGAFODE focuses its efforts on agricultural areas in Uganda that are over 50 km from their branches, providing loans to both groups and individual borrowers. The organization believes that the risk of offering services to remote clients is outweighed by the benefits to customers and their often underserved communities.
