Marilyn is 53 years old, married, and has four children. She lives in Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. She owns and operates a retail business in the local community, which she has been doing for over seven years. She earns 20,000 PHP every month.
Marilyn is requesting a loan from GDMPC, which she joined in 2007, for 50,000 PHP, which she will use to purchase additional products to sell such as shampoo, soap, sugar, coffee, canned goods, eggs, and rice. In the future, she wants to make improvements to her house as well as improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
