José owns and operates a start-up sole proprietorship called Novedades J & D in Pasadena, Texas – a suburb of Houston. The company will sell purses and other accessories and provide a place for people to make phone payments.
José is currently employed by Super Page, and he will continue to work there while he runs J&D on the side. He will open the business in an area flea market. In addition, José’s wife will manage this business with him. He currently has one full-time staff member and will be hiring more employees in the future.
His $5,450 loan from Accion Texas enabled him to purchase his initial inventory, including purses, sunglasses and other accessories. “I really appreciate Accion’s help,” José says. “I’ll be able to grow my business now!”
