After leaving his job at an NGO in Uganda, Dennis returned to his village to start a family. Now with a wife and three young children, Dennis is working extremely hard running poultry, printing, and consumer goods businesses. With the help of a Kiva loan, he will be able to purchase more of the energy efficient stoves that have been a major health and fuel-saving product for his customers. Unlike most entrepreneurs, Dennis doesn’t just wait for customers to come to him, he travels to smaller villages and performs demonstrations everywhere from offices to hospitals to small shops. The son of farm laborers, he did not grow up with much money, but his dream is for the extra income generated from stove sales to allow him to send all three of his children through school as well as expand his business to neighboring towns.
