Mwanasiti is 26 years old, married and has been blessed with five children all of whom attend school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water.
For the past three years, she has operated a café, her potential customers are the local residents. She faces a major challenge of high costs of transportation and seasonality in her place of operation.
With the KES 30,000 she wants to purchase bundles of wheat flour, beans, maize flour, and soft drinks. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
