Adora is 34 years old, married, and has 2 children. She lives in Calamba, Misamis Occidental. She owns and operates a retail business in the local community to earn a living. She has been in her business for over 4 years and earns 10,000 PHP every month. She joined GDMPC this year to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. And now she has requested a loan of 20,000 PHP to purchase additional products to sell like shampoo, soap, sugar, coffee, canned goods and eggs. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand it.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
