Joyce is a single mother of three children all of whom attend school. She lives in a rental house that has electricity but no piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are electricity bills and the high cost of transportation.
For the past eight years she has operated a fresh water business selling to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge of high competition from other water providers. She dreams of establishing another water distribution point in the future.
With the loan that she is requesting of Kes 20,000 she wants to purchase a water pump for her business. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to improve her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
